SURVEY ON TAGA'S MEETING TIME

Thank you to those who responded to the survey. We will share and discuss the results at this week's meeting.

TAGA INFORMATION AT COMMUNITY EVENTS

We continue to set up our resource display at various public events in the community in order to inform the public about the health, economic, and transportation benefits of establishing trails and greenways in our community. In May, TAGA organized a mini-greenway at the Affinity Pediatric's Outdoor Patient Appreciation Day that was well attended. On Saturday, June 9th, TAGA will participate at the 10th Annual Wellness Expo and Health Fair in the Beulah Hill Family Life Center from 10AM - 2 PM. Please contact Helene at 229-402-1861 if you wish to volunteer at this event.

TIFT COUNTY COMPREHENSIVE PLAN

The Tift County Board of Commissioners approved the Greater Tift County Comprehensive Plan that was presented at its May 14 public hearing. That's good news for all area residents to know that a five-year plan developed through the input of a wide network of area stakeholders, including TAGA, will be in place to guide our governance in implementing programs and improvements that meet the needs of the community.

GREENWAY

We are closer than we have ever been to seeing the development of a Greenway trail for biking and walking on the old railway bed that extends from I-75 Exit 62 to Carpenter Rd. According to the article reported in The Tifton Gazette on May 25th about moving forward with the transportation special purpose local option sales tax (t-Splost), the greenway project is on the list. The news has been encouraging for TAGA supporters.
